Myofascial Release

MFR (myofascial release) is a very effective hands-on technique that provides sustained pressure into mypfascial restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. Treatments are always one-on-one in a private treatment room.

Fascia is the dense connective tissue that provides the structure of your body. It is a continuous web from head to toe. According to research, when traumatized, the fascia can exert excessive pressure (2000 pounds per square inch). Of course you hurt if you have an elephant standing on your back! Fascia can be traumatized by poor posture, surgery, auto accidents, or even emotional traumas. Because fascia is a continuous web of tissue, you will feel the pull and pain in other areas of your body.

Current diagnostic testing does not reveal restrictions in connective tissue. Many people end up chasing and treating the symptoms instead of the fascial restrictions. This can be frustrating. MFR therapists treat the cause (fascial restrictions), not just the symptoms.

MFR treatment takes time. Healthy fascia is fluid in nature. The same Nobel Prize winning scientist that discovered vitamin C also found that under stress, the fluid structures of the body solidify and become crystaline. When the therapist applied mild force to these crystals for 2-5 minutes, subtle changes occurred in the electrochemistry of the cells and the tension literally melts away. Myofascial Release restores the fascia to a healthy state by restoring this fluidity.

Fascial restrictions pull the body out of alignment, solidify what should be a fluid system, and are at the source of many global conditions. If you experience pain of any kind and have been diagnosed with a global condition such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, myfascial pain syndrome, then it may be time for a new perspective.
